Henk Mulder is born on the 22th February 1948 and currently living and working in Holten the Netherlands. After secondary school he wanted to go to the academy of arts. But being the eldest son of a working class family with 11 children, there was no money for him to do so, as was the case with many families in those days. So he had to find a job. Being between four walls in an office all day was absolutely no option for him.

Henk was attracted to the advertising business though and after a long search he found a job at the "Ned. Diepdruk Ind." in Deventer, which prints books, magazines etc. He worked in the retouch department of photography. But after some time he wanted to make photos by him self. After working for several photographers for some years he had enough of that and started his own company, having earned all the necessary papers in the meantime. Photography has it drawbacks, when creativity is concerned, that's why Henk started painting about 25 years ago. He has been painting with "TAAK" in Hengelo for many years, which is an academy for amateur artists led by Piet Kusters.
